Come on FaithLife! Are you going to restore the NASB95 in it's original format or not? Or are you going to continue this dribble fix of a few aspects to try to satisfy a few of our desires in the hope that we'll shut up and put up with your nonsensical approach?

Alex, you are more likely to get an answer emailing customer service or Bob directly. I'm not saying you'll get the answer you want/like, but you are more likely to get your concerns acknowledged.

I agree with Alex they need to give some clear answers. They acted hastily without thought of the consequences of impact on all users and are now scrambling to put what they have determined is a satisfactory fix in place. The fix they think is appropriate shows they do not get why it was wrong of them to overnight take away what was not broken. They need to be more open about what they are doing rather than hiding behind beta releases.

A user requesting paragraph format told a FL employee that their was no copyright restriction requiring FL to preserve paragraph format. FL employee checked information and subsequently FL made an immediate decision - without consideration if this is actually what all users wanted and whether the visual filter was actually capable of correctly displaying the text as one verse per line or if the loss of the unique formatting features of the NASB95 would upset users - to replace the one verse per line format with a paragraph format.

Aparently because I have simply chosen to articulate the concerns of those who feel disengaged this decision on FL fanboy has now likened me to Satan on another thread about this issue. They still have't learnt that bullying me will not change my view every customer of FL has the freedom to express their disatisfaction with any decision made by FL.

For a different perspective anyone who is interested can read this thread where the comments appear to reveal that this process happened over a series of weeks (and this thread is only one example of a request that has repeatedly occurred in the past). If one chooses to take the Faithlife employees at their word, before the paragraph form was ever released, there was already a commitment in place to further work on the visual filter which was released in 7.7 and promises that even more refinements will be included in 7.8.

Personally I have not seen nobody question any FL employees word on making improvements to the visual filters. So why you think an accusatory statement like this is appropriate is beyond me David. You are crossing a line and showing intollerance to those with a different view to yours by putting words into their mouths they never said so you can justify your intollerance nstead of respecting each customer has a right to provide feedback to FL.

The issue I have seen raised is how they handled changing the longstanding default format of the NASB95 into a new format which does not match the original format and there has been no word from any FL employee whether these improvements will result in those who prefer the original format being able to replicate that format via the visual filters and if it can not be replicated via visual filters then can a sepaate resource with the original format be released for those who prefer the original format.

Hey Doc, I don't doubt that they'll struggle to give the OP the information that he needs. However, they will at least be able to acknowledge his complaint.

We, on the forum, can speculate and discuss ad nauseam whether FL will do this or that (that's our prerogative after all) but only FL can give the OP the information he requires, right? So, I still think that the direct approach would be better for him in this instance. OP could even send an email to Bob Pritchett, that's what I did when I had some serious concerns over the direction LN was heading, I found him very reasonable.

FL have been discussing this directly in another thread and have not given clear answers. There is no speculation taking place just lack of willingness to answer the real issue at the heart of this matter as asked by the OP. Ordinarily I would agree with your advice in most circumstances but if the decision makers won't answer on the forum thread they are already involved with, there is no hope of customer service having an answer.

Emailng Bob directly is an option but I think a sad option if we as customers have to resort to that because FL staff already enagging the issue won't give a clear answer.

In fact, I did send an e-mail to him last month about this issue. This was his reply: "I understand that you're upset about this change. I'm investigating it with the team; I wasn't aware in advance. I'm sorry we've frustrated you." You can see from where we are how much good that did.

I am sorry to have offended you. I did not try to accuse anybody. And I fail to see how "for a different perspective" is intolerance. I did not claim that my interpretation of the thread was the only (or even the best) conclusion. Only that it was a different perspective than what had been stated. Also, I did not put any words into anyone' mouth. NOWHERE did i attribute a quote to another user.

Doc asked "What, exactly, did they do?" You provided a summary of events from your perspective and I provided a link to another thread. In that other thread I quoted 3 Faithlife employees and attempted to summarize my reading of their statements.
