When I do a Bible search in L4, I no longer get any results unless I search All Bibles and then, I only get results for the NKJ, Lexham and NAB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ron

Sounds like it could be a problem with your Bible Index (if you are running 4.0b)

Type "Rebuild Bible Index" (no quotes) in the command bar and restart Logos. After the indexer is done try your searches again to see if the problem is fixed.

    Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your timely response. I believe I tried what you suggested; Typing "Rebuild Bible Index" in the command bar. I then hit enter and exited L4, then restarted it. First time it looked like the search window I had accidentally left open showed finds for all bibles (which is how it was set up). But upon trying a new search, I was back to where I had been. Results only for NKJ, Lexham and NAB.

Tried it again after closing the search window. Same result. Any more ideas.

    Thanks,

    Ron

It sounds like you may have exited L4 before it started rebuilding the index. Next time don't exit L4 until it (and if) asks you to. The indexing process usually takes a few hours, but I've never done a rebuild on the Bible index, so it should be considerably shorter. An indexing icon should appear in your system tray telling you how long the indexing process will take. If you didn't see this icon, there's a good chance the index was not rebuilt.

Take a look at Kevin's instructions above once again, and try to rebuild your Bible index. But this time give it more time to get going. Kevin is right that this kind of problem is very likely an indexing issue.

    Thanks, both Richard and Kevin

For some reason my indexing was stopping before it was completing. On the phone with tech support today and they were able to get it to go all the way thru by removing the folder containing my Bible Index. It was then completely rebuilt when L4 was restarted and seems to be working properly now.

Again thanks for your willing support and help,

    Ron
