Any reason why the Literary Typing section for a PG on Daniel stops providing a more detailed breakdown at the end of chapter 9 as shown below?
Thanks, Graham
I'll create a case to look into this. Thanks, Graham.
Thanks Rick
Hi Graham.
What you see accurately reflects the data that is in the OT Literary Typing dataset. I will dig further down the chain to see if something happened along the way, or if that is what was originally in our source data (but this will take some digging).
In other words: This is a data issue, not an application issue.
It will be interesting to see what you find out!
Graham
In the original data, there is a layer of prose "above" the apocalypse that has been collapsed (otherwise you'd see Prose -> Prose -> Apocalypse)
Further 8.14–27, is "Vision"; 9:1–27 is both "Vision" and "Apocalypse"; and 10:1–12:13 is "Apocalypse". Because these were essentially repeats (they're covered in the higher level categories), we collapsed them away too.
So what is seen here is accurate and covers through Daniel 12:13. Essentially, the balance of chapter 7–8 is "Vision", chapter 9 is a mix of "Vision" and "Apocalypse", and chapters 10–12 are "Apocalypse," as indicated by the higher level tagging.
Appreciate the insights, Graham
