This is getting a little annoying.....

Since the release of 4.0b I've noticed more crashes of L4. This only happens on my Win 7 64 bit machine -- (HP Pavilion Elite, 1TB DDR, Core 2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.5 GHz, 8 MB RAM) I have a similar home system in a Dell that's 32-bit but I'm not getting the same problems with it.

The problem first occurred when I received the initial download of 4.0b. The system wouldn't allow the install, claiming I needed administrators rights -- funny since I'm the only user on the computer. So I "installed as administrator". After the install, starting the system caused a crash, I then restarted the program and everything runs well. This occurs daily, every first start is meet with a crash and then a restart. After the restart everything is fine.

Additionally, any updates since, and there have been 2 to my knowledge, have failed and caused me to use the run as administrator option. Anybody else experiencing similar oddities? Any idea of what's happening or causing this?

I'm not sure what might be causing this, but here's a suggestion: set the short cut to always run as administrator.

If you don't know how to do it: right click on the shortcut and click "Properties" (the bottom-most option in Win7 64bit). Choose the "Shortcut" tab, click the "Advanced" button and tick "Run as administrator." (See graphic) Then click "OK" on both dialog boxes to set the options.

I'm not aware of any downside to running L4 as an administrator all the time and some have found that L4 will run better this way anyway.

I didn't have any special trouble installing L4b or SR-1...seemed to go swimmingly.

However, ever since I've experienced crashes when I open nearly every layout that I've got. It is very frustrating, but for some reason I seem to have encountered a software bug that no one else has. In my case, Logos says they will fix it in 4b SR-2: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/13473.aspx?PageIndex=2 This has really put a cramp on my style...and I don't have a whole lot of style to be crampin' ...
