TIP: how to resize special panes

Special panes such as highlights, favorites, power lookup, etc., appear in a specified width and position on the desktop. If one hovers the mouse over the pane border, it would appear that one cannot resize them. There is a solution however. First, drag the pane so as to make it tile to half your desktop on the side your prefer. Once this is done, you can now resize the pane with the mouse from the border.

Good one! When another 'special' tool is opened be sure to drag it into the adjustable tile.

Nice tip. The only downside appears to be that as a special (unsizable) pane, Logos never reuses that pane. Once you change that by dragging it out, Logos will open other resources in that pane.

If I understand you correctly to mean that Logos won't overwrite that portion of your visible screen, then I beg to differ. E.g. Information Tool, Community Notes and Power Lookup are all assigned to the right-hand-side special panel, which may mean that the (usually not very effective) Power Lookup will be opened and overlay the useful information panel with its - most often empty - box when you doubleclick on something that is not otherwise recognized.

My solution  has been to float those special panes - they can then be resized and the space is not reused.

I should add to the tip how to resolve the problem of the automatic tiling of the special windows with resource windows if one desires open space in the desktop (for a more pleasant reading environment):

The problem: if one resizes a special pane and then opens a resource window, the resource window will be tiled to it. In other words, it will fill the space not taken up by the special pane. As a result, it may be larger than desired. If one tries to drag the boundary of the resource window to adjust its size, the windows remained tiled and so as the resource window shrinks the special pane enlarges and again, this may not be desired.

The solution: open a third resource and put it in between. Then close the third resource and an open space will be created between the first resource window and the special pane. Then adjust the resource window size as desired: it is no longer tiled and tethered to the special pane.
