Takes so long!!
I'm not sure about Logos because it takes so long to come up. I know there's a trick one can do with it to make it work faster, but I'm no longer sure what it is. Can some help?

Kevin, it isn't a trick, but if you set Logos to open to a blank layout it will open the fastest that way. Go to Tools|Program Settings and select that option in the top drop-down box.

If you like using a layout then go to Program Settings and choose "At Startup open to Most recent layout - local". The next version 7.8 is faster when opening but won't be available for another 6 weeks.

??? I stated that the OP could choose the Startup option now whilst v7.8 will be faster again.
The 7.6 change is phrased differently to what I had understood, as the benefit applies to all startup options except “Most recent layout – any”!
