Tyndale Commentary - Four Volumes in the Silver

I know that at 79 years of age my memory is getting a bit hazy, however it seems to me that the Silver Level that was offered when Logos 7 first appeared included the entire Tyndale Commentary. Now I just checked and it seems that only 4 of the 49 volumes come with the Silver.

Before I begin my rant, I want to know if my memory has failed me or not.

Only four volumes from that set sounds a little bit strange. Do you already own some of these commentaries and hence only four of them are new to you Gerry? But I am not near a computer at moment that I can look in website to check how many are actually included. I don't know if what was included has been changed since L7 was first released.

I may have been a bit hasty (not the first time). Last thing I knew, I didn't have any of the Tyndale in my Bronze collection. Now I checked and practically all of the Tyndale is in my library.

My main reason for upgrading to the Silver was going to be to get the Tyndale. I guess I'm losing my marbles!

Not to the best of my knowledge.

It looks as though you acquired them somewhere but I'm not sure where.

There have been a number of sales on them over the years. They first came out at then end of Libronix life cycle and the beginning of Logos 4 life cycle - January (2010) so you may have acquired them quite sometime ago.

But is seems strange you are missing 4 volumes Gerry as from this Logos Blog article at the time of its release it was a 49 volume set not a 45 volume set. I would recommend following up with customer service.

Apparently what I currently own is a summary of these four selections and not the actual commentary. This is psalms.....

I don't think it is you. I think it is the marketing page that they put together. When I was examining Silver for myself, I noticed that Tyndale seemed to be listed first as individual titles. Then there was an expandable short list of 4. I didn't bother to look for overlap. Without counting, I would guess that most of the over 40 commentaries were listed individually. I just looked again and their listing is still messed up.

I see 1 and 2 Samuel listed as the first resource on the Commentaries list. This, and the following individual titles, are indeed Tyndale titles.

I just chatted with Tom in sales. He agrees that the web page is confusing. He said that Silver comes with 49 volumes from the Tyndale series.

Well I just talked to John in customer service who told me there were a lot of upgrades to the Tyndale listed under commentaries with the upgrade to Silver for me. The thing is they aren't listed as being part of the Tyndale set. This of course just sort of adds to the confusion.

Also I learned that if I upgrade to the Silver now all I get are resources. However, there is another upgrade to the databases known as the Extended Feature Set. That doesn't come with the Silver upgrade and has its own price. As I'm more interested in Logos' features than in its resources, I would probably upgrade to the Feature Set.

At any rate, thanks to all participating here and I heartily agree - this is all tres confusing!!!

You should investigate and consider Logos Now instead of the Feature sets. If you are someone who intends to keep up to date until you stop using the software, it is much less expensive, provides you with "future" features "now," and gives you other benefits as well.

I have used this moniker for ~20 years. When I chose it, I wanted "alabama," but it was taken. I decided upon "alabama12" (the number of national titles held at the time), but it was taken too. I decided to try doubling the number. It was available. The funny thing is that the company that promised an "email address for life" has long since gone out of business, but I still use the username. [:)]
