finds no results in LEB or ESV.

I've just got hold of Logos Basic and am finding my way round the Search facility, using the search syntax in the search window.

I tried some of the Factbook searches like <Person Jesus> or <Person Moses> in the LEB and ESV but no results come up ...

Can I use these search terms with these resources using Logos Basic?

Welcome to the forums Natalie! I am showing that these searches work in both the ESV and LEB (note that I renamed both of these resources in my library, so they show up with custom names in my screenshot). Does your search window look like mine?

Try removing the red target on the upper left of your search window. Normally this is used to have hyper links sent to this window.

When I upgraded my Base Package recently the page did mention Datasets, but the above links don't for some reason.

Would be useful for new users to know what they need to buy to gain the functionality they need.

UPDATE: Just answered my own question ... the Starter Feature Set would do the trick, or any Base Package.

It does provided you indicate that you want the Starter Feature Set.

The Feature Set product pages are not forthcoming about the functionality of the Datasets, although the names of many are indicative. The Logos 7 Upgrade wiki is somewhat more forthcoming, especially for Biblical Referents.

But what you can do to find all words tagged with the name, is to lookup the name in factbook. Under the Lemmas section, you will find all occurrences.

If you want to combine that with another search, you would have to expand all Lemmas for the name, click on "More" until all lines are visible, right-click the header "Lemmas", choose Copy, then start a new passage list and add by pasting from clipboard. You can then do further Bible searches that you limit to that passage list. For the name Jesus this is a bit tedious, as you have to expand a lot of different lemmas, but it should be okay for most other names.

It does work for me and I don't believe I have that dataset as I have never bought a base package. I also cannot directly search for a person.

The Lemmas are curated and do not include pronouns (a couple at best) which Biblical Referents covers.

I should add that the "Referred to as" section only appears if you have the Biblical Referents database; where you see a notable increase in results due to pronouns and verbs (where Person is the implied subject).
