Bible References

There are a plethora of Bibles in Logos. And depending on the Bible, there are a number of references throughout the Scripture, as a typical Bible has. But is there a way to take all of the references in all of the Bibles for a specific verse or passage, and bring them all into one place, so as to check all of the cross references at once? For example, the Cambridge Bible has about ten verse references on God creating the world. The HCSB has about five, and every one of those references are completely different. If we have 30 Bibles, I would love to take all those verses and pull them into one place. And I don't mean the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. That is limited too. I just want to broadest, and most complete reference list.

I tried inserting a couple of images and screenshots, but is asks for a URL, and I am clueless how to do it, and i don't want to upload them to bad websites. If anyone can help here that would be appreciated. Thank you!

InChrist,

Steve J.

It's not so obvious Steve but to insert images into a post click on the paper clip button rather than the insert images button.

I do not believe that is possible at this point in time. And idea like this has been discussed before and I agree it would be interesting to have a report that does bring all this together.  One limitation though that was brought up in the past by one user was that with such a tool you would loose the context of why that verse was referenced by the particular author/editor as a cross reference. And I think this is a fair comment.  If we don't know the context or source of the cross reference then its value does become less.

That limitation said from what you are saying you only want cross references from bibles and not other resources types if I understand you correctly.

Thanks for the info. I believe if it is within the verse, then we can check those passages to see if it lines up with that verse. I know the NIV likes to use cross-reference to reference a specific phrase, at least in NT material. But as with the other two Bibles I referred to, the topic of creation was the reference. But I believe that we can discern that as we check the passages. Logos likes to use  Lexham for a lot of things, maybe they can create a type of book that incorporates all the references verse by verse. Or perhaps they can make all of those references known in their Lexham Bible. with just a hover or a click.

Use the Cross References section in the Passage Guide. https://ref.ly/logosres/logos4help?hw=Cross+References+Section

Your cross reference resources are listed first, then a combined list of all the cross references from all Bibles in your library. In this screenshot, I've highlighted the extracted references from AV1873 in yellow and HCSB in red. You can see that there are also many more from other sources.

Thank you Bradely for the insight, I had thought this was a curated list from select resources rather than all bible's in ones library.

Interesting. Good to know that The Cross Reference section includes them. Thanks Bradley!

Thanks. I appreciate that. I just thought that was for the favorite Bible. Correlation is probably one of the most important, yet least sought after things we can do in Bible study.
