Is there a way to sort the notes, clippings, etc. in the "file" dropdown?

Is there a way to sort the notes, clippings, etc. in the "file" dropdown? I know that I can search the contents but it would be nice if there were some order (alphabetical, Bible book, something other than the apparently arbitrary list i have now.
Thanks

Not as such. But if you "drag" a name you will see it appear at the top of the list.

I agree I wish there was a way to sort notes in a note file. ie. canonically sort notes in my notes on the book of Psalms. It would also be nice to have a way to sort all my notes canonically and separate them from clippings, reading plans, etc.

If you are adding notes via a right click, they should be in canonical order. I agree that a sort would be nice and it has been requested.

There are several proposals on the table to do this. You may vote for one at http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4 or enter your own proposed solution.

I brought that up in another post too. The current implementation of putting recently used files at the top can come in handy at times, but usually messes with my mind because I'm thinking of the name an am inclined to look for it in alphabetic or canonical order rather than remember what was recently used.
I suggest they do what Microsoft does with font lists and other selection lists with a recently used or "in-use" section - draw a line to demarcate that area from the rest of the list.
Have a great day,

Dave when I try to drag anything on the dropdown list i get a cirlce with a line through it as I try to move the file and it stays put.

Just drag a short distance and it pops to the top.

There has to be another element here. I can't get it to work as you say.

4.0c beta 2 allows you to sort notes by reference (canonical order) ...

I can do it with a regular mouse or a touch pad. Drag up or down!

We're talking this drop down? I'm using a standard mouse and can't get them to budge ... only opening a file brings it to the top. Odd.

Huh?! You must be specially blessed. I can't do it either. Could we see a screencast?
Sure, it moves up to the top of the list if I drag it all the way off the File menu and into a tab, because then it becomes the most recently opened file. But it doesn't sound like that's what you were talking about.

Yes. I drag slowly up or down with the Stop/Forbidden circle showing. It's now working only 80% of the time. I must be blessed!
