Does anyone know if there's a keyboard shortcut to update/save the layout you're working in?
Thanks
You should see the keyboard shortcut in the layout menu right next to the "Update active" link .
On the PC it is Ctrl-Alt-L.
I'm trying to update a saved layout. That shortcut seems to update the snapshot rather than the saved layout.
Snapshots can not be updated. A snapshot is just a single historical layout configuration. The mentioned shortcut and link will update whichever layout is currently active.
The shortcut doesn't seem to work for me. I'm using 'ctrl+opt+cmd+L' on my mac and nothing seems to happen.
Are there any settings I may need to change?
On my stable installation, and on my Beta on Beta the 'Saved Layouts' update with the keyboard shortcut. Neither the Home Page Layouts nor the Quickstart Layouts update despite the shortcut be shown against them.
Layouts that can be saved are found under 'Saved Layouts' in the menu, and the current Active layout is ticked.
In Windows the 'Update Active' link is greyed out (inactive) for Quickstart and Home Page layouts.
I see what you mean Dave. It is sort of like that on the Mac although I didn't pick up on the 'grayedoutiness' of the Update Active link. Perhaps it would help if when you click on it the window didn't close making you think it had responded in some way.
Once you note the fact the keyboard command is also grey you can understand why it has no effect on those Layouts.
