How do you go from split screen to single screen?

Hi. I just found this app this morning, and am attempting to navigate through its many features.  I'm stumped on a simple one: how do I go from single screen to split creek and back again?  I did something to go to split screen, and I can't figure out what!  I'm using it on my iPad.  Thanks!

There is a tiny grey/gray dot on the right of the split screen line.  Touch, hold, and drag that dot to the top or bottom of  your screen.
