How to Hide Resources

Any user-friendly tutorials on how to "hide" and "unhide" resources? I'm looking to be able to do more than one resource at once (if possible, maybe sort by author or publisher) and also understand exactly what "hiding" a resource does.

I searched the forums and didn't see any helps.

For the most part, I don't recommend hiding many resources, but here is an explanation of what it does:

The "hidden resource" feature of Logos is actually a (nearly) universal resource license archiving capability. When you "hide" a resource, it is removed from all of your desktop and mobile apps. By "nearly," I mean that "free to use" resources on mobile are not hidden... you can't remove them in any way. When you "hide" a resource, it is unavailable to use in any way until you unarchive the license. The nomenclature of "hidden" is a misnomer... it isn't "hidden," it is removed.

You can hide multiple resources by sorting resources in the library view, shift-selecting the range of resources you want to hide, then selecting "Hide these resources" from the Ctrl/Opt+right-click menu.

Thank you for the responses.

I suppose my main reason for wanting to possibly do this is due to the Perseus Classics collections (which are free).

I enjoy being able to compare a NT Greek word to the Classical works, but I don't like all the hundreds of Perseus volumes "clogging" up my library when I open up the library panel in Logos. On the other hand, I guess if I "hide" them, then they won't show up on the "Textual Searches" portion of the Bible Word Study.

In addition, the Perseus Civil War collection is indeed a nice-to-have, but does not aid in Bible study. It would be nice to "hide" them from view, whilst still having them in my library if I am in the mood to read Grant or Lee, for example.

On the classics, I dump the non-originals (english, etc) and keep the original languages for word studies.

Regarding CW, you can alway create another account, free engine, and Perseus. Not quite what you prefer, but gets there.

Yes, but that isn't how it works. If you "hide" a resource, you lose all access to it until you unhide it. I have suggested some sort of "reverse prioritization," but there is no traction for that suggestion.

If you really don't want those resources, your best bet is to have FL lock the licenses, which will completely remove them (no longer own license for them).

I think the command you might be thinking of has to do with reindexing so the hidden books no longer show up in search results.

No, but that might be true as well. I <think> what I was thinking about ([:P]) is the command used to remove the trial resources after they expire. I do know that at least at one time this was necessary... but I never worried about it.

Sounds like "delete unlicensed resources"

From help file

In some cases, specifically when acquired as a rental or those included as part of Logos Now or Logos Cloud collections, resources may have been downloaded to your computer that you no longer have licenses to. These local files can be safely deleted to free up disk space using the following command:
• delete unlicensed resources
