Concordance Works Offline. Missed That One!

Being in economy class on the Logos airplane (not a Now-er), I pretty much ignore announcements from the pilots. I figure I'll see it, when the cows come home.

I just assumed concordance was a Logos server thing. Ditto Bible Browser (haven't tried). My Logos stays offline for months at a time.

Pretty nifty. I tried out my notes PB and Bible references. 78,979 exactly! Wow. I was surprised Matthew led with 18,217. Luke trying hard to catch up ... 16,650. OT-wise, was a mere 1,216 for Isaiah.

Interesting. If anyone else in economy class doesn't keep up (busily grabbing the arm rests!), try it out.

I think that Concordance caches the last five online compilations for off-line use.

I don't think that you will have much joy with something new.

I just ran another for AYB Lev, which I can honestly admit, I've never looked at. I tried several more, well beyond 5. Each takes a bit of time.

And yes, my wifi radio is turned off. And router to boot.

EDIT: Disaster struck. AYB Lev has 311,444 words, and it's still 'printing'. I killed the panel, but still 'printing'. Guess I need a shut-down.

EDIT2: Re-starting brings in the buffered concordance, the huge 'printout' and another re-start to take the load off the CPU. Not sure about their logic, when you kill a concordance tab. I also tried Oxford Commentary ... it's as un-supported as you can get (except maybe Jerome's). Works! Even lists out Josephus refs. The 'Works Cited' has a bug, but I've no need.

Yes, Concordance is a local function.

Bible Browser is online only

Edit: The Logos 7 helpfile indicates if a network connection / Logos Now subscription is required (and I see it hasn't been updated to show the Bible Browser no longer requires a subscription)
