After spending a year on a Windows PC, I'm back on a Mac (using my old iMac now, getting an iMac Pro early next year).
I'm getting settled back into my Mac, and I'll be possibly in a position where I'll be teaching a couple of biblical courses with Logos down the road after I finish an IT project.
I'm taking a "less is more", simpler approach to my workflow and relying as much on Apple's built-in apps as possible, and only installing third party apps I know I'll regularly use for my teaching, school, or IT workflows.
I had two questions I'm still trying to best discern what to do, and those who use and teach Logos with their Macs regularly I'd really appreciate some assistance here.
The first question is with regard to Mac Word Processors. I won't be using Microsoft Word (or Microsoft Office) on my Mac (I'm letting my Office 365 subscription go). So far my workflow is: Use Pages for template-based documents (letters, flyers, etc), use Nisus Writer Pro for general, every day word processing and for quick stuff (it's also my Word replacement), and use Nota Bene I brought over from my Mac in concert with Logos for research and writing. I also own a license to Mellel. Would there be any reason for me to also install Mellel on my Mac (and iPad, as I own a Mellel license for iPad), or am I better off remaining with the main three word processors listed above? The last time I used Mellel was for assignments in a Hebrew course, in which Nisus Writer Pro does handle Hebrew, and I have Lingua in Nota Bene and would likely use it for any Hebrew typing (I mainly copy-paste Hebrew from Logos into the word processor).
The second question is with regard to Mac screencasting. I definitely need more power when it comes to screencasting with Logos than what's included with QuickTime Player. I own a license to both ScreenFlow 7 and Camtasia 3 for Mac (on Windows, I used Camtasia, but last time I was on my Mac, I loved ScreenFlow). I have ScreenFlow 7 installed on my Mac now. Is there any good reason to also install Camtasia 3 for Mac on my Mac and use it in tandem with ScreenFlow 7 when it comes to screencasting and teaching with Logos on my Mac (especially since I will be using it in an academic environment), or bare minimum keep it around as a "backup", or am I better off just doing everything under ScreenFlow 7? I also have Snagit installed which I can use for quick screencasting, and I use it daily for screen capturing (I need more power than Grab and I can't live without Snagit whether I'm on Windows or Mac).
Any input on these would be much appreciated especially coming from those who integrate Logos into these for teaching purposes.
Thanks!
