I have been looking around the forums for help with an "intertext search"

Basically I would like to see where Exodus 1:1 (or whatever) is referenced elsewhere......

Can anyone give me any direction for search syntax? Thanks

Here's one method, using the Passage Guide, see the Parallel Passages section of the report...

    any direction for search syntax?

This post from MJ also has several options, most are relevant to only finding OT in the New but some may capture OT to OT and NT to NT as well

The "Intertext" search finds Quotes & Allusions from the OT in the NT. For syntax see Intertext within this Search wiki

However  {Label Intertext WHERE Source ~ <Ex 1:1>}  shows that Ex 1:1 is not quoted in the NT, but {Label Intertext WHERE Source ~ <Ex 1>} will show quotes from any verse in chapter 1.

If you want passages parallel to Ex 1:1 then use Passage Guide as suggested above (it also shows Quotes and Allusions where applicable).

Thanks, this is what I was wondering. Sorry for the delay in replying....
