I remembered the minor prophets commentaries by E.B. Pusey and wondered if Logos sold them. Well, it turns out I own them, but on the product page it says Albert Barnes and James Murphy wrote them. So that begs the question: who really wrote these minor prophets commmentaries? The title page on my Logos says E.B. Pusey wrote them, but the product page says Barnes and Murphy did...🤔

Even more confusing is that the product page acknowledges Pusey (see red circle) then product overview on the same page credits Barnes & Murphy.

      Editors vs. author???

Yep! I noticed that. Oh well, the resource in my laptop says EB Pusey so, I'll take it no matter what. Maybe someone at FL could comment.

After surfing through the Internet, I've come to the conclusion that Barnes and Murphy used 2 volumes written by Pusey in their commentary collection. I believe they may have included one or two more from other authors. Yes, the Minor Prophets 1 & 2 were written by Pusey. I own them and that's what on the opening pages. Think of Barnes' Notes as being the series and Pusey as being one of the authors in the series.

Albert Barnes and James Murphy wrote this 26-volume commentary on the entire Bible (KJV), verse-by-verse from Genesis through Revelation. Published in the 1800s, it is still well-loved and well-read by evangelicals who appreciate Barnes' pastoral insights into the Scripture. It is not a technical work, but provides informative observations on the text, intended to be helpful to those teaching Sunday School. Today, it is ideally suited to anyone teaching or preaching the Word of God, whether a professional minister or layperson.

IMO Barnes' Notes may be a simplified subset of some of these works.

I own E. B. Pusey's two volume hard-cover set on the Minor Prophets. I also use e-Sword and have the "Barnes" commentary module. I noticed that this commentary is almost word-for-word Pusey's!
