Help

I am a newbie in using this software/program etc. I purchased and downloaded Vines Expository Dictionary. However, I was unable to open and or use the program because I did not have a program associated with the extension. I downloaded the software that I thought would enable me to open my purchase. However, it is not true. I even purchased regcure to get the proper file extension on my computer. Still no luck. I have unlocked and downloaded to no avail. What am I missing?? I am confident that God will inspire someone out there to help me.

Tried calling logos support - but 20 minutes later I had to hang up. Thank you

Have you installed Logos 4 (or Libronix) on your machine? You don't pay for the program but it is necessary to use the resources.

If you have Logos 4 installed, start it and tell me what you see when you click of the library icon (book in upper left)

No you don't need Logos 4 - but if you haven't been a Logos user in the past I would start with the current version i.e. Logos 4.

Which one she needs will depend on which resource she has purchased. It sounds to me that there may be a conflict between what resource she has and what engine she has downloaded.

The Libronix (Level 3) products run on Logos 4 without problems. There are some products that do not yet have a L4 version (there was a recent thread on that). But items from a disk do need to be loaded first into L3 and then picked up by L4 (generally).

UPDATE: Before I even finished posting this, you posted that you've got it working now, so the first part of this is now irrelevant, but still read the rest.

Bobbie Jean, if you can't get Libronix/L3 running or can't open Vine's with it, you can install Logos 4 for free:

Just installing the engine (which is free) won't give you access to any other books besides this one that you've bought, unless you already had a library of books in Libronix. But it sounds like you're a brand new user to Logos, so I'm guesing you didn't.

Unlike other software (such as Word) where a document with a file extension is something you open in your software, and the file extension has to be associated with your program through the Windows Explorer so that you can double click on the document to open it, Logos keeps track of what books you have in your library and indexes them all, so that you can open them from within the program by opening your Library and double clicking on a book title.

Also, if this is the only book you've ordered, you're going to have a very limited idea of what Logos can do for you. You might want to consider getting one of the very inexpensive entry-level library packages to have at least a Bible and a few other reference books. It's all the interlinking between resources that makes it so powerful. Using Logos 4 to access just one electronic book is kind of like using a BMW to sit in and listen to the radio.
