Sources from Footnotes not linkable (even though I own it).

Hey guys, I hope y'all are doing well!

This morning I was reading Howard's NT Theology, and I realized one of my footnotes was not linkable:

As you can see on Footnote 5, the source is not a link (it's a mere text) even though I own the resource AND Logos normally makes sources clickable.

Here you guys can see I own the source cited on footnote 5.

I am curious as to if this resource (Howard's NT Theology) specifically has an issue, or if journal articles are never clickable, or if I am doing something wrong.

Can anyone help me?

We produced Howard's New Testament Theology before Themelios 20 was in our ecosystem. Consequently we were not able to provide any links to Themelios at the time.

It's been many years since New Testament Theology has been updated and it looks to me like a strong candidate to be updated. I've put it in our queue.

No, you are experiencing a relatively common situation, where one resource (we'll call it the source resource) contains references to another resource (we'll call the second resource the target resource) and the target resource probably didn't have a Logos version at the time the source was brought into Logos. So at the time the source resource was created by Logos, there was nothing to link to.

Often, Logos will go back and update these source resources depending on how much value it would add to do so (considering the cost vs. the payoff) Determining factors for updating older resources are usually such things as, how many people own them, how many people read them, are they scholarly/academic level resources, is there newer editions available, and how many references does it contain, etc.

In my experience, the best resources almost always get updated, but less common, less used, older editions, don't get as much attention. And we can't expect Logos to always go back and rework older titles, just because new books have been added creating a possibility for a link that didn't use to exist.
