Links no longer going to the desktop version?

This is something that I have noted recently. This creates two problems:
(1) Links that I created in documents for the purpose of linking to the desktop version did then but no longer do. That's a problem if this is where I want to work from.
(2) The web app is not yet optimal and there are frequent delays in looking up the link.
NB: This is inconsistent: the same link once opened the web app and just now opened the resource in the desktop version.

A ref.ly link will open the web app first, then launch your desktop application (if it's installed).
(Before this recent change, it would open a blank browser tab first, then the desktop application; we believe the current approach is an improvement.)

I hope that a better system will be implemented in time, like a true local shortcut. Ref.ly could be kept for the web app and for posting references pop ups in web pages.

On operating systems that support it, such as iOS, the Logos application will register itself as a handler for https://ref.ly/ links and open them directly in the app, bypassing Safari.
If such a capability is added to Windows or macOS, we will likely take advantage of it.

What would be much better in my opinion would be that the refly link would go to a fast server, that would first open Logos desktop, then the web app. Currently it goes to the web-app which loads relatively slowly, and only later opens the desktop. 5,000ms is much too slow.
