This is a question that is addressed to Morris Proctor or anyone else that can show me the way to find every old testament reference whether direct or indirect that points to Jesus Christ as the Messiah.

It would be great if Logos 7 users would be able to find it in the tools menu to expedite the search.

If we don't have it yet, I would like to suggest to the Logos Team to make it possible in future Logos versions.

It is that important.

Coming of Messiah

Synopsis

The coming of a figure chosen and anointed by God to deliver and redeem his people. Anointing was seen as a sign of being chosen by God for a special task of leadership or responsibility. The OT looked ahead to the final coming of such a figure to usher in a new era in the history of the people of God; the NT sees this expectation fulfilled in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Anointed to be judge

The coming of the Spirit on some of the judges is a spiritual anointing:

Judges 3:10 (ESV) — 10 The Spirit of the Lord was upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord gave Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand. And his hand prevailed over Cushan-rishathaim.

Judges 6:34 (ESV) — 34 But the Spirit of the Lord clothed Gideon, and he sounded the trumpet, and the Abiezrites were called out to follow him.

Judges 11:29 (ESV) — 29 Then the Spirit of the Lord was upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh and passed on to Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he passed on to the Ammonites.

Judges 15:14 (ESV) — 14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting to meet him. Then the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became as flax that has caught fire, and his bonds melted off his hands.

Anointed to be prophet
