Hey John,
Check out this thread and see if it helps. I have had problems with this Alpha release, 16a, after I completed the downloading some modules. It sounds like what I was experiencing. I am now able to run L4, but indexer still crashes.

Appears Indexer crashing after comparing update 4.3.3.7690 to current version 4.3.3.7689
As David Mitchell noted in thread reference from Justin - wonder about deleting A16a application, download latest release from: http://www.logos.com/logos4mac and installing. If Indexer still crashing for latest release, please post logs again.
