Macbook Pro OSX 10.6.3
I run L4 using VMWare/Windows 7. L4 runs very slowly. I bought P5 but I am unsure whether to proceed.
I don't want to risk my L4 Library but I would like to 'test' P 5.
Anyone help me with the P5 process?

I am running P5 with Win XP it in works fine. Other users have made comments about both options and seem to be happy with their setups. The big issue is RAM allocation - here is a link to settings to use http://community.logos.com/forums/t/6461.aspx
From what I understand, you can import your Fusion VM straight into P5 and not lose anything.

The organization I am with has a piece of software for language learning that has higher minimum requirements than Logos 4 for Windows. I have ran P5 and VMware Fusion 3 side by side and found very little difference between the two. There are small differences, but nothing that seemed to affect the program I was running. Both ran the program well, but I did choose VMware Fusion 3 for daily use simply because I have had it since it was in Beta testing, so I am comfortable with it. I would say that if you can run Windows XP rather than Windows7 , you will have a better experience. I still run Windows XP on both VMware Fusion 3 and P5. I did notice that Windows 7 did slow things down a little bit, but not much.

Which version of VMware do you have? If you upgraded from 2.0 to 3.0, you will get the speed benefits of 3.0 if you create a new virtual machine under version 3.0. Do you have sufficient hard disk space to make a copy of your VM? It will take a while, but you can then safely test P5. Parallels will directly open you Fusion VM.
I have experience in using VMware fusion 2 and Parallels 5, each using bootcamp installation. I have also spent quite some time researching the comparison between VMware fusion 3 and P5. As far as I can tell, I feel that Parallel 5 is the best option.
