I am trying to answer this question below. The textbook for this class that I am in states that the Gospel of Thomas is only 114 sayings of Jesus. I searched the platinum collection for "Fifth Gospel" NEAR Thomas and a few others with zero responses. I just need some more help with this. My response can be a few sentences. The textbook is A Student's Introduction to the New Testament by Stephen Harris. I am to take responses from the NRSV bible. I would like to just get a better understanding of this. Can you help?
What portrait of Jesus was painted in the “Fifth Gospel” of
Thomas?

We don't know which library/books you own, but if you do a Basic search on your Entire Library for the phrase:
"Gospel of Thomas"
including the quote marks, you should have the hits you can manageSome of the Bible Dictionaries will be good sources.
If you want to get more resources, go to logos.com, and search on the same phrase (again, with the quotes.)

If you've got Platinum, then you've got Eerdman's Dictionary of the Bible, which has an entry on the Gospel of Thomas. (I wouldn't include "Fifth" in your search, since this book is called the Gospel of Thomas, and "fifth gospel" is just an assumption as if it were the fifth after the four that we have in the canonical Scriptures).
The Gospel of Thomas itself is in the Nag Hammadi Library in English, which you also have as part of Platinum.
I also have a great book in my Logos library (came with Thomas Nelson Bible Study Library) called Gospel Parallels--NRSV by Burton Throckmorton. It contains an Index of Noncanonical Parallels to the biblical gospels at the beginning. Here is the section from it on the Gospel of Thomas. So this will tell you which sayings of Jesus from the Gospel of Thomas parallel which verses in the canonical gospels. Now you've got all you need to do your assignment. Go explore!
