When I no longer use Logos 3, can I give the primary install disk to my church pastor for his use? He would have the basic package and could start loading his own set of books from Logos.
Not if you have upgraded to Version 4 as your Version 4 license will be based on your original Version 3 one.
If you are asking as to whether you can give your pastor your L3 disks when you move exclusively to L4, you can't give away any resources that would have been included in your discounted upgrade price. If for some reason you were to have purchased L4 as a new account holder at "first time purchaser" price, then you would have to contact Logos and have the licenses transferred over to your pastor at a nominal charge. What a blessing that would be to your pastor I'm sure.
An L4 upgrade includes the privilege to use everything you used in previous versions of Logos...hope this all makes sense.
As was said above, this would be illegal, and a breach of your EULA (End User License Agreement), if you had an L3 package and purchased an upgrad to Logos4, based on what you already own.
If you bought new (did not purchase an upgrade package from L3 to L4), then you can transfer the license to your pastor, noting that Logos charges an administrative fee for doing this.
What has been written above is correct. If you upgraded to Logos 4 from Libronix (aka Logos 3) then according to the EULA you cannot pass on any resources to your pastor. If the primary installation disk you give him contains only the Logos engine, then there is no real harm in doing that (as it is free), though he would probably be better downloading the latest version from Logos at http://www.logos.com/support/downloads/ldls
Hope that clarifies things.
