I have purchased the first of these (it's a no-brainer) and am contemplating the second. I had hoped that they would be 1 and 2 but sadly they weren't. If funds were available, I'd also buy Moo on Romans, but the central heating boiler needs repairing, so, sadly, Logos funds are considerably depleted. [:'(]

Alan: Thank you for your reply. I agree, the ICC is a no-brainer and that's pretty much a done deal. I can't afford everything I want either, which is why I posted to seek your advice...thank you again, Michael

I'm picking up the MacArthur commentary as it isn't part of the commentary "package" and I'm missing it. If you don't have Treasury of David, it is a classic commentary on Psalms by Spurgeon and a must-own.
I'm considering picking up IH Marshall's Concise theology. Also, I heard Al Mohler's sermon on Preaching in a Postmodern World at Shepherd's Conference just before his book was released. It was very insightful. I'm going to pick that up. If you preach, it sounds like a very worthwhile read.

Jacob: I truly appreciate your time and comments. How fortunate to have attended the Shepherd's Conference. I have downloaded some of the video and will attempt to secure the rest of them soon. Your recommendations are very helpful, especially since I've used the link in your signature to read about your church in AZ and have shared some of this information with a good friend and brother. I love MacArthur and Mohler, so those will probably be in the top five or six for me. Thank you again for your input...Michael

I'd recommend OT Theology by Paul Enns. It would beef up your biblical theology section in your library.

Unger's would be a good way to go. I have it and value it.
I was happy to get A.A. Hodge's Outlines of Theology too.

My top five would be of course the ones I purchased:
- A Critical and Exegetical Commentary on the Pastoral Epistles, I Howard Marshall - Can't pass up this deal
- Outlines of Theology, A. A. Hodge (1879 ed) - Was perusing this on Google books and decided I liked his clarity and method.
- The Treasury of David, Charles H. Spurgeon - Get this great commentary. I was disappointed with the edited Crossway Classic Commentaries edition of this. Glad to have the full thing.
- Encountering the Book of Romans, Douglas Moo - I don't have the other D. Moo Romans commentaries, so I got this as a summary of his views.
- A History of Christian Doctrine - William G. T. Shedd - I like the topical organization and thoroughness of this history.
I considered House's OT Theology, but decided that the New Dictionary of Biblical Theology and the Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology covered the same ground, so I'm probably going to pass on it.
