Logos Not Synchronizing

I added an old copy of Word Bible Commentary "Ephesians" to a computer running XP professional. The software was the old Logos lsb format. Imported the lisence into L3 and it picked up the commentary and everything was fine.

I then synchronized L3 and went to my Windows7 64bit and tried to perform a synchronization. Now the book opens up in L3 but it will not download in L4. I have scanned the path, but neither L3 nor L4 on the windows 7 Home 64bit will synchronize.

I think I physically carried the Lsb lisence and imported it into the L3 software.

In L3 the "preparing lisence backup is complete, but it will not upload. In L4 when I force "update now" it eventually tells me that the software failed to synchronize.

What could be possibly preventing the software from updating the lisence?

Not that this helps you (unless "misery loves company" helps you - <g>), but my Logos 4 has had trouble synchronizing a few times just today (Thu, 4/8/10) (and maybe the day previous - not sure), even though it has never seemed to have any synchronizing trouble previously.

L4 is now synchronizing but not L3. Still getting the same error message. Word Biblical Commentary is not downloading in L4. I have physically copied the file and placed it in the folder with the other resources in L4 and still nothing.

This will not be of much help but it is a kernal of thought. I have read in previous posts that you do not just copy and paste in to the L4 resource folders. it takes a scan: process to get them and such. I do not know how to do this and have not needed to but try a search for posts with scan: c: or something like that and that might help.

The scan command is needed to alert Logos it needs to add a book to its various databases. The syntax for the scan command is [ scan c:\folder\with\Logos books ] I would suggest putting the file in a temporary folder on your desktop, run the scan command and then restart Logos. Once it's copied over delete the folder on your desktop.

Thanks Kenvin. Did that but still nothing happens. The commentary is still not showing up. Now it refuses to synchronize, even thought it was synchronizing earlier. The commentary works fine in L3.

L3 is still not synchronizing on this machine, even though it did on the other machine with xp professional. This one is using windows 7 64bit.

Well, in my case, L3 still synchronizes (licenses) just fine, but L4 has stopped doing any successful synchronization over the last couple of days ("An error occurred during synchronization, click to try again"). [:|]

That's to be expected if the computer just came out of sleep/hibernation or there was a temporary network glitch. If it persists then start a new thread explaining what documents are not being sync'd and include the logos4.log.
