Logos 7 crashing frequently after Windows 10 update

In response to your email request. Logos 7 crashing frequently after Windows 10 update. I'm using a custom layout. It crashes eventually on typing a bible reference into the combo box. Attached are my logs.

Looking at your log there are these lines:

That indicates there is a problem with your copy of the ESV - but it may also suggest problems with your disk. I would recommend checking your disk for any general problems.

In terms of Logos I would suggest a couple of things.

Try opening a different Bible - not ESV - and see if that works ok
Download a new copy of the ESV to your system and see if that then works out. To do this you need to "hide" the resource and then restore it. Details on this can be found in the Logos help file - or on the wiki

Unfortunately hiding and restoring the ESV didn't seem to work.

You noted 'database disk image is malformed' very well.

The Windows 10 update was problematic because I received a 'Windows 10 upgrade couldn’t update the system reserved partition' error and so I was forced to repartition - expanding my system drive and reducing my main drive - to get the update working (https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/buckh/2015/08/10/fix-windows-10-upgrade-couldnt-update-the-system-reserved-partition/). Afterwards I had some problems with some software, but most of it seemed fine.

I suspect this repartition didnt go so well....

Ouch - sounds very painful

How much free space do you now have on your main drive after repartitioning?

What happens if you try opening another Bible? Does that work ok?

I expect a complete deletion and reinstallation of the Logos software would fix this but that's a lot of downloading

You could try "repairing" Logos from the Windows Control Panel and see if that helps.

Hopefully someone else will have some other suggestions as well.

Hi Joshua,

Try deleting the ESV and the Reverse Interlinear (RVI) files associated with it.

Quit Logos
Navigate to C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\iici5zrl.2ti\ResourceManager

Alternatively:

Right-click the Logos icon and select "Properties".
Click the "Open File Location" button.
Open Logos5Data\iici5zrl.2ti\ResourceManager

Delete the ResourceManager.db file.
Open the Resources folder
Delete the following

ESV.logos4
ESVNT.lbsrvi
ESVOT.lbsrvi

Restart Logos

Logos should automatically re-download the files you've deleted.
