Downloading newly purchased books

The last 13 books that I have purchased have failed to download to my Mac. I have followed the directions in two threads in the Forums but to no avail. What's next. Please do not just send me back to the Forums. I have read the material there and followed the directions - they don't work.

If absolutely nothing works then there is little we can do to help you.

However the solution I found to this problem was to go to 'preferences' where I found that the 'use internet' button had been switched to off.

You might like to check your settings.

I checked my settings, re-set and then re-checked my settings closing L4 and then re-opening it each time. I have also deleted the two data base files that you suggested in another thread. Nothing.

Well actually not me mate - I am just a punter like yourself - although one who read the info about working with Alpha versions of software before I took the plunge.

The above line would be better expressed to sales on the phone rather than here in the forum - it is also more likely to elicit the response you require.

You are correct in your assumption. Normally that is all that is required. It also helps to wait a bit with the newly opened Logos to allow it to establish internet contact itself, In the first instance give it 3-5 minutes. If it doesn't show any sign of activity – the Logos icon in the right of the Apple Menu Bar – after a few minutes, all is not lost.
In my experience with the Alphas it sometimes helps to give things a wee nudge. Try typing Update Resources in the Logos Command Bar. That should open up a drop down which gives you a choice of Tools or Search. Click the Tools|Update Resources. That should force Logos to look for you new resources.
Failing that then do what Tommy Ball, the Logos Mac developer, suggests and post your logs, so that they can check them and find a way to fix things for you.

Downloads done by Indexer process - blue icon appears in menu bar when Indexer running and Indexer.log file can be open while Indexer running - can watch what's happening. For example, "update now" or "update resources" show up in Indexer.log file. If internet connection has issues, timeout messages appear in Indexer.log when attempting to download resources.

By the way, when Logos4 is launched, both log files (re)created.

11 years later, i have/had the same problem. The purchased books did not download on my Mac, but did download on my PC.

I checked the box - " use internet" and then found another question below it - when to do the downloads - it was set for 12am-3am! I changed it to 12am to 12am and voila, it worked!
