Hi,
I am wanting to filter a Greek text and identify which nouns are affected by a preposition and which are in the dative case (if possible, dative of place where).
Is there a search function available that could automate the process?
Wow! I didn't expect to see you here trying to help me! Thanks!I have more information about this request, too:
I'm using "select ALL MORPH TEXT" in "ALL PASSAGES" in "DESCRIPTIONS OF GREECE (Greek)" for @p, @ND[DPS][FMN].
But, I only need to look at particular chapter of the book; how do I limit the parameters of the search? Thanks!
Morph Search for many prepositions followed by dative nouns:
@P BEFORE 3 WORDS @ND
Syntax Search can find prepositional phrases with dative nouns: e.g. Matthew 3.1

Welcome [:D]
Initial Morph Search using comma means find a passage that has a preposition and a dative noun (can be separated by many words). Better would be proximity search:
For a particular chapter, click on "All Passages" followed by entering desired chapter(s) to be searched:
Thank you for your quick reply!
See below regarding the issue I'm having...
Thanks!
Joseph, your search is for "morph text". Is your resource a morph tagged text?
I have no idea; I figured all my owned texts would be already tagged?
Changing Morph Search to specific resource (instead of All Open Resources) changes passage drop down:
When the reference is recognised, drop-down changes: e.g. Pausanias, Description of Greece 3
Thanks -- I'm half way there, but specific chapters are still not showing up:
Free Perseus collection => Perseus Classics Collection (1,114 vols.) includes "Description of Greece" by Pausanias in English and Greek.
English Perseus resources lack tagging for Morph Search. Greek resources can be searched using Logos Greek Morphology.
Multi-View ||| can be used for parallel display of Greek and English:
FYI: screen shot shows Greek with visual filters highlighting articles and prepositions along with Morph Search results:
I'm still confused why I cannot target a specific chapter to be searched?
What version of Logos 7 ?
Logos 7.11 Beta 1 added reference range filtering to Basic and Morph searches => https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_7.11_Beta_1
Search Added support for filtering Basic searches with a reference range. Added support for filtering Morph searches with a reference range. Added NOT Operators to Search cookbook. Added German translations to the cookbook in German UI.
Speculating stable 7.11 release near Mon 27 Nov
7.10.0.0019.
Were you giving me instructions which are only applicable to beta-branch users?
Yes [:$] for restricting Morph Search to a specific chapter.
Logos wiki has => Logos 7 Beta Program information + risks (since one option is using 7.11 Beta for specific chapter searches).
This makes far more sense now!
I updated my client to support beta options and it's working! THANK YOU!
+1 [Y] Smiling [:D] plus Thanks to Faithlife for enabling search reference range.
While we're on this note: is there a way to have Logos express the results of the search in graph form? If so, how?
Noticed Morph Search and Basic Search of this Perseus resource do not have graph results:
Analysis can be done when have the time to wait awhile (my 2011 MacBook Air took over 8 minutes):
