Catena Aurea made it at $20, maybe

By the 16th, more will jump on and the price will be even lower

I admit, it is fun to watch now that it crossed over. Just wondering how much pushing/advertising would get Barnes over the line.

Barnes is interesting in that it languished at around 40% for a long time but recent weeks have seen it move up to close to 60%. Guess where there's life there's hope!
Longtime Logos user (more than $30,000 in purchases) - now a second class user because I won't pay them more every month or year.

It seems that every time we succesfully push a product over the line a lot of people join in and take advantage of the low price and a few more become regular bidders. In spite of the best efforts of Logos and the Community Program bidders I think that the whole process is still not fully understood by a lot of Logos users some people still seem to believe that if they bid high they will pay the price that they bid even if it closes lower, this is evidenced by the number of people who post that they have Bid $30+ when we are close to closing at $20. I think a second group believe that if they bid $5 and it closes at $20 they will be charged $20 not realising that their bid will simply be unsuccesful.
I have bid on most of the resources in the Community Program and a few closed at a price higher that I was originally willing to pay on some I raised my bid others I passed on. Personally I'm convinced that we could get a lot of good Public Domain resources at great prices if we can get enough regular bidders to make it worth Logos' while putting them all in the program rather than pushing them through the Pre Publication route.
God Bless

I don't know about others, but I bid what I think a book is worth to me. It has nothing to do with what the book (or books) will eventually sell for. When I post that I have bid $30+ for a book, I am saying something about its value to me - not that I do not understand the process.

I think for many people if they bput what the book will sell for in PrePub and once out of PrePub, more people would buy - it would sure show the value of Community Pricing!!

Ditto. I bid what a book is worth to me. For example, I bid $40 on Catena Aurea a long time ago. By mentioning that here, I realize that my higher bid gets counted in with those who are willing to pay $20 for it so it helps push the product over the edge of being a viable product to produce. I don't bother lowering my bid after it becomes clear that a product will make it over the top, because I know it doesn't matter. I'll still get it for the lower price, and my original opinion on the value of the product is still worth proclaiming to people. I take every opportunity to explain to people how CP works, and the CP page is pretty clear about it, too. Except that it doesn't mention that people who bid under the final price won't get the product at all.

And even then they are given 3 to 10 days (depending on when it goes over the line) to increase their bid. Seems fair to me.
