Configuration connection between NIV and commentary

I'm using Logos 6. In the default commentary - The New American Commentary - when I scroll the Bible passage, it scolls the commentary, keeping both in synch. This isn't a problem when the Biblical passage is short, but it is a problem when the "connected" passage is long. I can't scroll the Biblical passage and then scroll the commentary independently. How do I remove this connection?

Also, how do I select a different default commentary set?

Finally, sometimes, when I open a layout and use my finger to scroll up (I'm on a Windows 10 Surface Pro 4), instead of scrolling, the program thinks I'm highlighting, so I'm forced to use the scroll bar to scroll up or down. Where is the setting for this to toggle between highlighting and scrolling?

I'm using Logos 6.

I would recommend upgrading to Logos 7 - the free engine is available at https://www.logos.com/product/136022/basic - it won't specifically address any of your questions but it would get you onto a supported platform.

I assume - but am not sure - that you are invoking commentaries, opening Bibles by entering a passage on the homepage, pressing the Go button and then getting a layout such as that shown below.

If so - and in general - the reason they are scrolling is that they are in the same link set (shown by the A outlined above)

To remove resources from a link set you click on the resource panel icon and set it to "None"

Also, how do I select a different default commentary set?

The commentary set that appears is your highest "prioritized" one and so you change this by adjusting your prioritization settings. See https://wiki.logos.com/Prioritizing for some guidance on this.

The simplest way to do that is to remove the link from the commentary. I'll wait for someone who uses a touch screen to give advice as to how to scroll without highlighting. My guess is that it has to do with how long or hard you touch the screen, but the closest I can get to that is how it works on my Logos phone app, which may, or may not represent how the Logos desktop app works. Sorry.

I find it useful to have a second (unlinked) panel with a bible open in it.

In that, second panel, I have it set to 'Send Hyperlinks Here'

This panel then serves as a multi purpose resource.

1. Clicking on a hyperlink no longer upsets the position of the Bible/Commentary link.

2. It providers a copy of the Bible that can be scrolled independently.

3. It provides a copy of the Bible that can be navigated using the table of contents list.

I usually have this as a floating panel so that I can move this copy of the Bible around various workspaces.
