I would like Logos to transfer into Community Pricing some of the public domain works which have been languishing in PrePub for ages. It would enable them to be reassessed by Logos users at a price, that may be some way below what they are currently being offered at, then, if they move from Community Pricing into PrePub, they can return to their PrePub price. It's a win-win situation for Logos and its users.

I like guessing so I'll give it a try. My guess is that they have a lot of resources in the que to complete from community pricing and don't want to get any more backlogged. Once they clear out some of those resources they'll post more options on community pricing. I'm sorta glad for this (assuming it has an ounce of truth). I would prefer not to be told 3 years down the road that a resource I bid on today is now ready.

I have noticed from time to time, people asking why Logos is not adding new titles to Community Pricing.

Well, I think I have a guess at an answer:

On the Logos Jobs page, http://www.logos.com/jobs, there is a role of Marketing Copywriter, from late March.

To me, it seems clear that Logos is attempting to address that need, and it just needs the right person to step forward into the job. Selected extract follows:

"Logos Bible Software is seeking a Marketing Copywriter to post new Pre-Pubs, write and edit copy, and help with other tasks.

    Responsibilities:

    • Regularly post Pre-Pubs and Community Pricing titles
    • Write copy for product pages
    • Research books and authors
    • Assist with other marketing projects as needed"

Sounds like a perfect job for Rosie, if her last successful Catena Aurea promotion which became a Blog next day is anything to go by!

I fear that Publishers might be averse to cp - so cp may only be for pd titles in future? i.e. Publishers want to guarantee a minimum price for their books ... ?[:(]

Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't all Community Pricing titles been Public Domain works?

Also, it is my understanding Logos can remove any title from either the Community Pricing program or the Pre-Pub program at any time in the development process. So it would make more sense to be dogpiling a bunch of titles on the CP page just like the current practice is for the Pre-Pub page.

There are probably reasons in play here that we haven't been told (and can't guess.)  I just hope it is temporary.
