iPad and iPhone resource images disappear when switching off thee device and reboot offline

Everytime there is an apple release uodate the device needs to reboot. This is problematic for logos as everytime you boot up again all your resources (books) cover images disappear when you are offline and you need to reconnect to the internet to scan through thousands of resources To retreive te images again. This is really time consuming. The quality of the images of the front covers are so low and in some cases look like it was pirated from somewhere, that one cannot understand why these cannot be stored locally on the mobile devices. It should take little space due to the poor quality In any case?
