Highlighting

I'm trying to figure how to unhighlight. Somehow I accidentally highlighted a block of text, some of which already had highlights that I wanted. I remark the text I'm trying to unhighlight click 'Erase' in the upper right corner of the Highlight palette but get nothing.

Any help, forewarn I'm getting more illiterate in all things with each passing day Sad , so I need the ABCs pictures would help.

Hi Scott,

There are two things that I can think of that might cause this.

#1: If you have an active search open, it'll highlight the search terms and there is no way to unhighlight them without closing the active search panel.

#2: If you have any "Visual Filters" turned on, they may show up as highlights as well. You may want to make sure that you have them turned completely off by unchecking them or using only the ones that you want at any particular time.

Apart from being search or filter highlights, erase will remove part or all of your genuine highlights! You need to right-click where there is only the unwanted highlight, check "Selection" on the right and select "Remove annotations" on the left side.
