Just curious. In what capacity are you wanting this? There are a certain amount of steps back one can cmd+z in regards to text. THis is steps though not in terms of time, and anything typed w/in that time frame.
Can't you do that (regress) by going to an earlier layout? (I can't check this because I don't have my iMac with me on holiday, but I seem to remember that once I've been running for a while there are a wheen of layouts on the right-hand column, when I click Layouts.)

Yes you are right but I just deleted a pane that I didn't mean to and Cmd z didn't work and it would have been handy if it had just put it back in place.
Not important, not urgent, not essential - just handy.
After all Cmd z is the natural (mac ) reaction.

Easter is pretty demanding in Banff. From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday evening was 10 different sermons with services every day (2 on Thursday, 3 on Easter Sunday)! (I kid you not!) In addition a Vigil on Friday and Silent Service on Saturday.
Yep! I needed a holiday! Here along the Moray Coast I'm trying to complete the writing of my PhD thesis – 92,000 words and counting! Apart from that I'm just relaxing. [ip] [&]
