I keep adding books to my logos and after all these years i dont know excatly what i have. It is ok for searches and everything but is there some way to keep track of all the books or just look in the lib and go thr them all.
I would suggest setting up some Collections containing your different types of books. You can find information on how to set them up on the wiki site http://wiki.logos.com/Collections
Setting up the collections should help make you more aware of what you have also.
Me either. I think creating collections is probably a good option to keep it kind of under control, but I'm not very good at that either. I'd love any additoinal thoughts. Also, I'd like to keep better track of hte new items I add (or that get added) to my library.
All round, I'd suggest getting familiar with resource types and alternative ways to display your library
In Library right click on a column heading to see what else is available. The most useful are Title, Type, Series, My Tags, Rating, Languages, Subjects.
Click on Type, immediately you can see the types that are available. You can display one of them by:-
In time you will learn to use Rating and My Tags to apply your own categorisations - see http://wiki.logos.com/Library. Many rate all resources so that new ones can be spotted using rating:0 or rating:<1

Prior to Logos4 the program supported ways of printing and locally storing a list of my books/resources and license keys in a nicely compact format. I've kept printouts in a paper file. This feature made me feel that Logos had high regard for my sense of responsible ownership/stewardship/investment. They did a nice job of helping me easily keep track of my purchases and rights in case I died (and wanted to pass on my investment), Logos made an error, or was purchased or made some major policy change where I would have to account for, or defend, what I paid for. That used to be thought of as responsible management of our own investments and life.
However Logos 4 seems to shift more to the "trust us", "we will keep track of your products for you", "we'll take care of you" philosophy. Unless I've missed something they appear to now lean more toward the way the rest of our culture is moving. I appreciate that they want to use the "cloud" to enhance user experiences and expand platforms and access, but I would prefer to have them also retain the prior level of support of my own management.
Perhaps it is too early to judge. I am certainly hoping that along with the promised feature build-out of L4, I will be able to store my license keys and resource list locally with the old ease.

If you open the collections tool and make a new collection with this syntax "rating:>=0" and then click on the Tile menu there will be an option to export the collection to a text file. Then you can print this list and have a hard copy of all the books you own.

Between the above option and printing off receipt emails doesn't this give you adequate ability to keep track of what you've purchased, and in the case of collections what's included?
Jim,
per Kevin's item #1, if you need more details you might view the wiki page Bibliography
In my case, no.
But if Logos set up pre-designed collections...i.e.
Pastor's Library collection
Gold Library collection
Galaxie product collection (or Galaxie Church History collection)
E4 Collection
Preacher's Essential Library collection (from Nelson)
Pauline Studies Library collection (35 vol)
etc
In other words, if there was a script that would add a particular product we purchase (when the product contains multiple resources) regardless of the company it came from and regardless of whether it was an L2 or L3 or L4 resource...then that would go a long way to helping keep track of the Library books we own.
There also should be a one button push deal that would give the ability to print out the entire library. It should not be something that only techies know how to do.
Finally, there was a lot of talk about a year ago on the issue of sorting the Library or library search results. I have not found the current model to be sufficient. There should be some collapsible possibility so all results in that are from one resource would appear in collapsible form etc.
I also have not found the current model to be sufficient. I am sure others have and I am very happy for them if they do. But I have not.
