The 20 volume set is on sale, and was wanting to know if anyone can give any opinions on its value and usefulness?
Thanks,
I would pass on it personally. Just buy the titles that interest you individually the whole collection doesn't seem worth it
Just ask yourself this question: How much background information do you really need? I’m sure the information is great; I have a few academic volumes of my own, but I don’t really use them all. So unless you are a professor or you feed your congregation with academic material, you probably won’t use them much. Just my two cents 👍😁👌

Well, ok, I asked myself, 'How much do I really need?' It took a few seconds, and then I answered myself .... a lot!
I don't know about your church, but our members get a regular barrage of 'it's not true!' (the new word is 'fake'). Having detailed background info works wonders. Especially when folks say 'who knows' and you can show decent info. I'm a big believer in 'don't wait for the question'.
Then there's boring sermons ... oh, maybe we better not bring those up.
Regarding this set, I agree with Keith.
