30.4 MB download: What is it?

I just had a 30.4 MB update. Does anyone know what it is?
Thanks

That is indeed what it is.

Right where you found it today, unless Logos implements a policy to inform users in a "regular" specified place. Sometimes the Blog has information and usually if not always the forums.

I think lots of us are crying out for a webpage that succinctly lists new release and update information to explain all the downloads. It wouldn't be hard to do. Take the hint, Logos. We know you like to keep your customers happy. [:)]

I second that move! I would love to know what has been updated.

Post it on the web in an area that we can configure to have it show on the Home Page like Blog posts...then people will seeit right away when Logos comes up...

I got 800MB download, indexed for about an hour and finished.

Peter,
It sounds like your running a Beta? You'll got a bunch of Revint downloads.

Since our home page is supposed to read like a newspaper, the update info news could at least show up there as update news....

I concur heartily. Users have been asking for this since Logos 4 first came out. Although I trust Logos, I simply do not like the idea of downloads happening without my knowing what is coming down. Why is this so difficult for logos? And why do we not ever see a response from someone official as for the reason they do NOT do this? They ,ust have a reason? I'd appreciate some openness. Every software manufacturer does this. There are release notes along with every update.

Bob Pritchett has commented here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/7813/62089.aspx#62089 on why they don't give us much options in downloading. Logos does release notes when the software is updated, I'm not certain how helpful release note for books would be (I'm not arguing against them; I do think it would behoove Logos to make this easier to find for users who don't know to look for the official forum post).

Find your Resources folder (under Logos4\Data\{random}\ResourceManager), and sort by date so see which ones have just changed.

I just tried to download the update, now I can't open up Logos. Anyone have any suggestions?

Please note Kevin's advice and link above on not having your email address as your display name.
"can't open Logos" is unfortunately too vague to really help.

My update was 804MB, which begs the question what else updated. I haven't looked at the date stamps of my resouirces yet, but it would be nice if Logos generated an update report. I can't imagine it being that difficult.

Yes, they push advertisements out to us so I don't see why they can't push an update notice out at the same time. Maybe it's cause they don't make money on updates?
And with each download there is indexing required. On a 2 GB machine this can take upwards of 8 hours. I usually let it run overnight and often come back to a message that it has 20 hours to go. So I reboot and it usually completes in 8 hours. Just wish there was some way to postpone all the downloads so I could apply them all at one time.

If you set "Automatically download updates" to No Logos will give you the option to start downloading updates and you can wait to download until you are ready to download and index.

Thanks. That explanation addressed a different kind of concern. I am not concerned about the cost of bandwidth usage although I sympathize with my South African brothers who use Logos. I am just advocating for a small bullet point list of release notes when there is an update. Occasionally we will find such information here. But why not include that as a paragraph in our Logos Home page? I am simply curious to know what aadditional features have been added, plus any new volumes that might have come down in my library.
Thanks for pointing out my display name issue. I checked my profile and my display name is as you see it now. I don';t know why the system posted my email address.. I would never have done that.

Groovy, but where is the Logos4 folder to begin with?

I entered a request for the feature to be added to tell us EXACTLY what is downloading just like in Logos 3. Vote for it here:

I would love full release notes for software AND resources (books).
Imagine a note that says, for the new ESV Study Bible notes: "Fixed the footnotes so they are now working for James to Rev".
All they need is some simple database the fixer types some notes into, then internet magic can update web pages and all kinds of good things. It need not take a lot of human effort if they build the plumbing for it.
Those that dont care what was fixed in their coptic lex or uni-cycle users manual don;t need to read that page [:)]
