Bart Ehrman and the $1,000 Q-challenge

Check this out. Bart Ehrman was just made a $1,000 wager by a mysterious commenter named "Evan" over at Ehrman's blog. The issue? Some videos that apparently disprove the existence of Q decisively. 

Even better, Mark Goodacre has offered to respond to Evan on Ehrman's behalf tomorrow.

I watched the videos. 'Less than satisfying' would be my sigh. In neural-net world, you can train a network to 'write' a given author's style. Then, you can go back, and have the network try to write the author's book, watching where he gets in trouble (meaning the style isn't matching). That's the source of my sigh ... the videos are too facile.

We'll have to wait for tomorrow.

EDIT: I could be badly mistaken, but for pickiness-sake, Bart didn’t make the wager. I couldn’t see if he accepted it. I suppose, maybe the charity.
