Frequency Discrepancies in Biblical Word Study Report
This morning I was looking at the use of the emphatic particle δή in the NT and I notice a discrepancy in the frequency counts. The Lemma and Translation list a frequency of only 2, while the Textual Search section show that it is used 5 times in the NT. I am assuming that part of the problem in the Translation section is that it is drawn for the ESV, but why is the Lemma count off? I also assume this might be a problem that only occurs with words like particles that don't always show up in English translations. I am curious, however, if anyone else has seen discrepancies with other types of words. If so this really calls into question the usefulness of the frequency counts in the Biblical Word Study report.

The discrepancy will occur with Greek words that are not translated in the ESV (indicated by a dot). If you click the New Testament in the Textual Searches section you will see where its results come from. There are no inaccuracies in any of the frequency counts, just understand that they come from different bibles.

In other words the REAL frequency number will be found under the Textual section, not in the Lemma or Translation section.

Then, IMO the Lemma section is faulty. This should be the result of a NA27/BHS search, not a Reverse Interlinear! If a word is frequently untranslated then that itself is something that needs investigation a good way to set this off would be to have the discrepancy obvious between the Lemma and Translation section!

It should be the bible in the Textual section & the Lemma graph would also be more useful.

Good point, the way I worded it would have precluded correct results on a words study launched from the LXX.
