Retail Price?

What is the significance of the "Retail Price" of a product at this point given that products are no longer sold through bookstores?  If all sales are made through the Logos web site, doesn't everybody get the "Sale Price"?

    Retail price is effectively MSRP; a number rarely paid but always presented for almost any type of merchandise, online or in stores.
