Baptism

I am new to Logos 4. I am teaching a class on what it means in Romans 6 when Paul says we have been buried with Christ thru baptism into death.

How would I go about researching what that means and get additional information on the subject.

There are a few ways to go about doing that but the most straightforward is to run a passage guide on the verse.

Do a word study on baptism also. (right click the word and choose "bible word study."

Mainly I'd say read back several chapters, and read what Paul says in context...that's important...

Several ways.

on your home page (logos 4) type either the reference, or the word "baptism" in the upper left corner. This will give you many options and resources. Typing a reference will give you a passage guide (see http://www.logos.com/videos and look for the "homepage bible study") with commentaries, topical links, and more. Typing "Baptism" in the box will search your whole library for references to baptism. The first choice (entering your passage) is probably the better one for you.
You may also look up the entry to "baptism" in any dictionaries or Bible encyclopedias you have. You will get more than just on your passage, however.
Depending on your scope and time frame, check out several of Logos' resources for download, if you don't already own them. Among them:

There are several books you can find, like Jack Cottrell's "Baptism: A Biblical Study", which is part of this collection:

i agree. reading the actual text and its context (even do a "Bible Search" on the word baptism--by clicking on the magnifying glass button . . . but make sure you also select "Bible" and not "basic" or other options. This will give you all the times the word appears. Acts would be a big resource there. How and why was baptism used? Dictionaries will give you background information, how "washings" were used in Jewish religion, and how that might relate, or not, to our baptism. But carefully looking at the Bible, at looking at the Greek word, and what it's definitions are, will help you get some idea of what "baptism" was to the disciples of the early church)

Robert and Dan have already given you good starting places. I would also suggest doing a Basic search <Romans 6:3-4> to see what secondary sources quote the passage in question (the < > carrots tell the program to look for places where those reverences are tagged). This search should give you a wealth of opinions on what these verses mean... evaluating those options is up to you. Like Robert says, make certain you ground your conclusions in the context.
