Hi this is the first time that I am posting.

I love the new update, Amen.

When I open tabs that I have created on my iPhone, they do not syncronise with my iPad, am I missing a setting?

Hi Nelson - and welcome to the forums

No - they aren't designed to sync across devices. Or at least I haven't seen any discussion of that.

I'm not sure about this - I could easily see that I want to be looking at something different on my iPhone and iPad

I would want it implemented the way that tabs are synced with Safari on iOS/macOS. It's there if you need it, but out of the way if you don't.

I would agree with you if FL implemented the idea of PROJECTS. Otherwise, the things I am viewing on one device should be unrelated to what I am viewing on another. The devices themselves meet different needs and therefore are used differently.

Perhaps add some sort of program settings option, where people can decide whether or not tabs should sync.

Otherwise, the things I am viewing on one device should be unrelated to what I am viewing on another. The devices themselves meet different needs and therefore are used differently.

I can see and appreciate both sides, but a technology similar to Handoff certainly would be useful, where you can put down one device, and resume on another. It certainly would save time/effort not to have to search for and open a resource we were previously reading on another device.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

I would not be opposed to that (it's a great idea!), I just don't want it to be always syncing (unless they go to projects, and then YES!).

For clarity, I did NOT say it Should NOT be even though Alabama edited his quote of me to make it look like I did.

I think most people would prefer syncing of their iPhone and iPad. Since the tabs or work spaces (probably better term and wish I hadn't lobbied for the change of terminology during beta) it would be easy to have them all there on both and ignore the ones I don't use on one if I'm in the minority that doesn't sync them. If the devs can it would be nice to add a tick mark to sync or not sync certain tabs/work spaces.

FWIW, I would prefer tabs to sync between devices.

FIFY = "Fixed it For You" and implies that I changed what you wrote, most often in a playful manner (as was my intention). Sorry if that wasn't clear!

    Which term is better?

I think most people would prefer syncing of their iPhone and iPad.

Again, I am not opposed to this being an option, and I certainly think the idea of "tabs in the cloud" would be a quasi compromise. However, besides devotional bible reading, I don't use my iPad and iPhone in the same way. I would be ticked if tabs I opened or closed on one device were opened and closed on the other!

This is exactly right. Devices themselves imply use cases: my iPhone is not my iPad. I want easy access to open tabs on the other of the two devices, but I don't want them always looking identical.

Yes, let's avoid mandatory syncing of "tabs". Most of my use is offline reading and I wouldn't want sync errors when I go online!

I don't have a hound in this hunt. My devices are running separate versions of Logos.

But I was admittedly laughing. I have 3 Paperwhite models ... if they all automatically sync'd, goodness gracious! Throw me a bone, Timmy!

An app option, and then which ones? I guess all or nothing? Desktop too? I can see Alabama's projects, though still sounds like layouts.

Yes, let's avoid mandatory syncing of "tabs"

To clarify what I wrote earlier. The way Apple syncs Safari tabs avoids the concerns being expressed here. In the screenshot below, you can see the tabs on my iPhone. The top weather page is the only tab that I have open on my iPhone. Below that is a list of tabs open on my iPad and my MacBook Pro. I can close a tab on another device by swiping to the left and tapping "close." I can open a tab from another device on my iPhone by tapping on it. When I do open a tab from another device, the tab on the other device is NOT affected. A new instance of it is opened on my iPhone at the same location as on the other device. This is how I would like the tab syncing to be implemented.

I would NOT want tabs to stay in a "real-time" sync, where they constantly get updated. In fact, this does happen now, especially with my Bible, and I hate it. Just give me a list of what is open on my other mobile devices...that's all I want.

Bible tabs are dynamic, in that you would need to know the current query in a list of search tabs (unless you want a search history). By contrast your listed weather tab is fine because you will retrieve the current weather from your own device. Either way there will be a "real time" sync/update of the list. But I wouldn't want to be closing tabs on the other device from the list.
