Searching date RANGE

I need help searching dates. I know how to search one date, ie <Date = AD 250> but how do I search for any dates in a resource between a selected range, say, AD 250 to AD 500?

Im ultimately trying to find any mention of the word "Deacon" or related words where dates from AD 500 to Ad 1500 are also tagged, or where 6th century to 16th century are tagged.

<Date AD 250-500> should do it.

Most of the natural ways of expressing dates will work as you expect, including crazy things like <Date circa AD 250> or <Date 5th century AD> or <Date first half of the 5th century AD>.
