I'm sorry for the delay on this; we started work on fixing the bug about 2 weeks after receiving the report, which is about normal for a bug of this severity*. We thought we had it fixed (internally) before Christmas, but after the holiday break, discovered another problem during testing. We've been working on that this week, but we won't be able to ship it with 7.12 on Monday without taking some risks. We do expect to have it ready for 7.13 beta 1, so if this is critical for your workflow (i.e., if the workaround doesn't meet your needs until 7.13 releases to stable), you could switch the beta channel for this cycle.
