Is there a light weight version of Logos 7 for Windows that takes a lot less than 10 GB?
No, there's not, and attempts to get an "app" for Windows have been dead in the water for a long time.
However, there is the web app at http://app.logos.com/. Perhaps that meets your needs?
Welcome Jake! [:)]
For clarification: the app isn’t 10 GB... most of that is Resources & DB files. The more books you have, the larger the space required. As has been mentioned, the web app may be your best bet
To clarify, the software alone is about 350 MB. Data without resources/indexes is 0.4 GB. Documents could be 1 GB or more, dependent entirely on you!
So that leaves you 8.25 GB for resources + indexes or roughly 6.60 GB for resources. I'll break that down later..
I'll break that down later..
1.5 - 1.8 GB could be taken up by datasets (Feature Sets), so that leaves about 4.8 GB that you can select as a library or collection of books (800 - 900 books).
I just installed Logos Basic, and it took 10.3 GB.
I was also trying to install it on my laptop, but I don't have 10 GB available
Where did that size come from.? How big is your \Documents sub-folder ( in ...\Logos\Documents)? How big is the \Logos folder?
Answers:
\Logos = 3 GB
\Logos\Documents = 90 MB
Here's what LogosSetup.exe says when installing (Requires 10GB):
Your hard drive is way too full, even without Logos!
The app is small...ish. Certainly under 500 Mb. The bulk of the space requirements is for resources and dB files. You will, however, need extra space for indexing.
Think of it this way: you are at a wedding and are having photos taken. The room holds 30 people comfortably, but there are 50 in the room. When the photographer calls us the various groups, it takes FOREVER simply for a lack of space. Is your hard drive solid state? If not, this is even worse.

'And in summary', Logos doesn't allow selective resources downloading (the primarry source of the G's). They did in earlier versions. And the competition does. And the more you buy, the worse it gets.
I imagine that the web app version takes minimal space but does need an internet connection.
You need to make space using Disk Cleanup on drive C: as you need at least 20 GB free on your C: drive. When it opens click on Clean up System files. System Restore can take a lot of space so delete all but the latest Restore Point ( This PC > Properties > System Protection > System Restore).
