Excellent deal on one of the best commentary sets

These are the best pastoral/preaching level commentaries I have found. If you don't have them, it's a great price that doesn't often come around. Well worth the money. Certainly, the serious student/preacher will want to have critical and more in-depth commentary sets, but these commentaries are invaluable in preaching/teaching.

Greg. A great series I agree. Shame it's not the $99 that elsewhere has offered. And one of those other software companies does an extra 30% when ordered through your rep. For what it's worth, in a similar vein, I'm finding the Reformed Expository Commentaries even better. Although Logos is expensive here too.

I’ve compared them and the outline structure and overall content is superior. Easier to preach from too. Unfortunately, the set is not complete yet.

You were even more direct. Yes I much prefer the REC series. I find much more inspiration when preaching using the REC volumes. (Hopefully not plagiarism though!) I also find the Christ Centered Expository Commentaries similarly useful. Shame neither series is anywhere near complete though, as you highlight. But the volumes that are available are excellent.

Until this thread, I had never before heard of the Reformed Expository Commentary. I will have to check it out. I am a Southern Baptist who isn't deeply reformed, but I have benefited greatly from MacArthur, Sproul, Piper, Keller, etc. The Baker New Testament Commentary is excellent and I guess I have looked to that for an excellent Reformed perspective among others.

Knowing where I am, please share why I would benefit from this set. Thanks again!

I appreciate this comment DAL. I was wondering about how this set may stack up. I know it is more pastoral and less scholarly, but since I already have PTW and Boice's commentaries, I was wondering what this Reformed set would add.

I think the RECs are quite similar to Boice and would supplement them, as neither series covers every book of the Bible - although I'm sure the REC will in time.
