The log file says the article is empty when it is not, at least, in Word. Anyone know what is wrong?
It is usually easier to identify this type of problem when you upload the source text and possibly the log file.
There are a lot of other threads about empty paragraphs where the paragraph is just a end of line character / end of paragraph character

You have one or more paragraph marks that have a heading style but no text. Turn on paragraph marks and document map in Word. In the document map, find where there are any blank lines. Click on the text below the blank lines and change the paragraph marks style above the text to another style such as Normal. Do this until all of the blank spaces have been removed in your document map, then recompile.
