Logos for iPhone 1.3 on the iTouch - LIMITATIONS?
I've been perusing the forum for info on this topic, but a lot of what I'm finding references previous versions of the program, and my time for chasing this down is limited. So I'm starting this tread to explore certain somewhat nagging questions related to this topic. Thanks in advance to all who will offer answers and help me increase the usability of this excellent app!
Q01 - If I've gone through my library on the iTouch and downloaded all my available titles onto the iTouch using the "Available Offline" switch, why can't I perform searches, etc. on those books when I'm not connected to the internet?
peace, rob

Hey Rob,
It's my understanding that all searches are performed on Logos's servers. So searching can only take place online, even if you have downloaded the resources. I don't like that limitation, however, considering the limited storage capacity and processing power of the iTouch, I do understand it. The iTouch/iPad versions of L4 were created basically just to give us a more portable way to read our resources. It's not meant to replace the power of L4 on the PC. However, it has been getting better with new releases. It wasn't that long ago that we couldn't even download resources to the iTouch. So, maybe a future version will allow for some basic searching.

The iPhone/Touch app has made huge improvements from the beginning (not that long ago) and from what I have heard the next release should have some more large strides.
The next feature on my wish list that doesn't seem scheduled to appear in the next release is limited search capability in offline mode. I do not need to be able to search my whole library or do complex searching. Just a basic surface level text search of the open resource would be a HUGE jump for the program.
As it is now, I am using Logos on the Ipod touch for reading books and a free program (Bible+) on my 10 year old Palm Pilot for Bible reading and searching. The search feature on the Palm isn't fast or complex, but it works great for my needs.
It would be great if a basic offline search function could be introduced to the app.
